Asus laptop keyboards

Asus is one of the leading manufacturers of electronic equipment worldwide. The company hailing from Taiwan has conquered our hearts and until recently was the third force on the laptop market in the country. Almost everyone had at home a device produced by Asus. Many of them are already years old and although Asus keyboards are characterized by durability, their life span is not infinite.

Unresponsive spacebars, hard-working keys - these are all signs that your Asus laptop keyboard has reached the end of its life and you need a new one. On a PC, keyboard replacement is trivial. When it comes to laptops, it doesn't have to be any different!

When to replace the keyboard in your Asus laptop?

We don't spare our laptops. The keyboard on an Asus laptop, like any other, has a certain lifespan. If we averaged out your keyboard tapping to 11,000 a day, we'd find that you're pressing buttons as many as four million times in a year!

Pressing the little buttons as hard as you can cause your Asus keyboard to lose its bounce, elasticity, and consequently, the keys will stop working or do so with a significant delay. These are the first signs that the lifespan of your keyboard is coming to an end and buying a replacement is in order.

Asus keyboards can also be damaged unintentionally, for example by flooding or dropping. In such an unfortunate event, one or more keys may have been damaged. In this case, you will also need to replace the entire keyboard.

How to choose the Asus keyboard?

Selecting a keyboard in an Asus laptop is a bit more difficult than in the case of desktop computers. To find the right one, you need to determine the exact model of your laptop. The easiest way would be to type "System Information" into the search tool on the Windows bar.

Doing so will help you find the exact model, series and full manufacturer name. The next step is to purchase the Asus keyboard itself. Here you will also face a choice between different keyboard layouts.

The most popular is the American (US) and British (UK) layouts. These differ primarily in the placement of the ENTER key and the left SHIFT key. The UK layout also changes the positions of the @ button, hashtag, and inverted commas. These differences may be counter-intuitive at first, but they won't affect the Asus keyboard.

You need to place the greatest emphasis on the hooks, which must be located in the same places as in the original. It's also important to find the correct connection tape. At Battery Empire, we have done this for you so that you can save time and effort in disassembly. Check the Asus keyboard descriptions to see if they are designed for your laptop model.

Replacing the keyboard in Asus laptop - how to do it?

To replace, you must first remove the damaged keyboard. To do this, turn your laptop over, disconnect it from the power supply and remove the battery. The next step is to remove the screws on the bottom. The correct ones are usually marked with "KB" or with a picture of the keyboard. After removing the screws, lift the Asus keyboard and detach it from the signal tape.

Now you can compare the connectors with the model you chose in our shop. Thanks to this you already know that you have found the right Asus keyboard and you can proceed to its assembly. Just do everything again, but in reverse order - connect the keyboard to the tape, press it into the pins, and then tighten the screws. Nothing to be scared of, right?

If installing the keyboard in your Asus laptop causes you problems - you can always ask for help from a service technician who will carry out the process for you, or take a look at the blog Battery Empire, where you will find an extensive tutorial with explanations.
